Roger Laska and Bill Hagenbuck have formed a committee of six other members from our ICOLA affiliation to strategize about ways to press upon the County Commissioners to address short-term rentals (STR). Our SLA Board would like the County to establish rules to encourage short-term rental owners to manage their units so that their guests comply with neighborhood friendly rules. District 2 Councilman mentioned the County is considering restarting discussions on STR although their recent minutes do not indicate any discussions on STR’s.
A number of the Board members wanted to request the DNR to review the current status of the Wier as the flow from the lake is currently low to none. A survey of the weir was completed last year by the DNR and concluded that the weir has maintained its integrity since its original installation. A motion was made to request a new inspection with the following results: Vote: In favor: Lonson, Erickson, Laska, Mullaney; Not in favor: DeSheeper, Evans, Huettner. Tom will reach out to the owner of SLL to give them notice of our request for inspection so that they are aware of a possible pending inspection. Motion passed. Roger Laska to coordinate the request into the DNR.
